A date code is on the top of the battery if I recall correctly. I personally think you should probably return that battery and look for a new one. I wouldn't completely trust a dead battery in this case. Costco batteries don't usually sit on the shelves long so they are fairly fresh good batteries. The alternators need to break in, but forcing them to charge at 100% brand new shortens their life.Īny new battery I purchased has been charged enough to easily start the car.
